Your tasks:
As a PhD candidate, you will work on the project "Promotion of diagnostic competence of student teachers with a focus on diagnostic thinking," which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project offers the opportunity to pursue a PhD in an international team (Switzerland, Germany) in the field of teachers' diagnostic competence.
Your area of responsibility includes, among other things, the following activities:
- Scientific collaboration in the project "Promotion of diagnostic competence of student teachers with a focus on diagnostic thinking"
- Development of survey instruments and concepts to promote diagnostic competence
- Collecting, processing, and analyzing data
- Presenting results at (inter)national conferences and in professional journals
- Working on your doctoral project within the framework of the research project
The dissertation will likely be submitted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kathleen Philipp at the Institute of Educational Sciences at the University of Basel. The position is limited to 3 years. Remuneration is according to the guidelines of the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Your profile:
Your profile
- Very good university degree (Master's, at least grade 5.0), preferably in mathematics didactics or other educational sciences
- Basic knowledge of research methods
- Teaching experience at the primary level as well as experience in project collaboration are advantageous
- Team and cooperation skills, independent working, willingness to collaborate across universities
