Dipl. Nursing Specialist HF / FH for Care Health Department 60-80% (m/f/d)
Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centers at various locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the canton since March 2024.
For the Health Department, we are looking for a dedicated professional for age-appropriate care of minor asylum seekers and ensuring basic health care.
Your tasks
- Medical care and advice as well as intervention in physical and mental health problems
- Provision of health consultation hours
- Networking and cooperation with medical practices, hospitals, and external specialist agencies (including appointment coordination and provision of health documentation, etc.)
- Organization of vaccinations according to the Swiss vaccination plan in accordance with BAG guidelines
- Implementation of measures for communicable diseases (e.g., scabies, COVID, norovirus, chickenpox, etc.)
- Guidance of the team in medical-health care tasks and medical emergency situations
- Responsibility for health administration and logistics: health admission interview, documentation tutor, etc.
- Management of the home pharmacy and controlled dispensing of medically prescribed medications
- Interdisciplinary collaboration (social pedagogy, care, administration, and management)
- Preventive health education on nutrition, hygiene, sexuality, and addictive substances as well as guidance of the team on health prevention and handling of dressing materials
- Professional exchange with the health teams of other locations
Our requirements
- Completed training as a nursing specialist HF/FH or equivalent
- Good knowledge of relevant health laws and the service mandate of the canton of Zurich
- High level of organizational skills, initiative, and independence
- High resilience and professional boundary-setting ability
- Experience in intercultural cooperation, ideally in the migration sector and with young people
- Fluent German skills in spoken and written form
- Confident use of computers (MS Office, Teams, etc.)
- Impeccable reputation
