About the job
The Directorate for Security, Environment and Energy is committed to safety, protection and assistance, environmental protection, sustainable energy supply and is responsible for building permit procedures as well as for the Bern Zoo. The Police Inspectorate is responsible for the local and commercial police, naturalizations, resident services, migration and foreign police.
Activities
- Review applications, recognize importance and possible impacts, initiate necessary steps in a timely manner, coordinate between offices and applicants, involve stakeholders, ensure information flow
- Convene and lead negotiations and meetings, handle correspondence, advise and support applicants, develop and issue permits
- Crowd Management: review security-relevant aspects, coordinate, create concepts/analyses, technically and conceptually further develop measures
- Enforcement and controls on site during night, weekend and special services, initiate/order and document measures in case of non-compliance with permit regulations
Profile
- Training in police or security, many years of professional experience in the field
- Good IT skills, confident German language skills in speaking and writing
- Confident appearance, negotiation skills and ability to remain calm and objective in demanding situations
- Quick comprehension, networked thinking/acting, reliable, flexible, resilient, committed and a team player
