icebreaker are looking for a Global Product Developer to join the product creation team in Stabio, Switzerland.
Let’s Talk About the Role
As Global Product Developer, you will be accountable for the execution of icebreaker products through the GTM process from concept to finished goods, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, global business needs, sourcing capabilities, and quality standards.
This role plays a critical part in the tactical execution of industry‑leading product to design intent, collaborating cross‑functionally with a multi‑season time horizon.
As a key member of the product creation team, you will support and enable the Manager, Global Product Development in implementing best practices and processes, applying technical know‑how to turn product concepts into reality and drive business growth.
How You Will Make a Difference
• Concept Translation & Technical Realisation

Work closely with Design and Merchandising to interpret and validate creative concepts and align on desired outcomes (Style & GM%).

Translate concepts into comprehensive technical specifications and production strategies, from capability trials to bulk.

Ensure ideas are effectively translated into products that meet strategic and commercial objectives.
• End-to-End Product Excellence

Prepare detailed product tech packs: specifications, materials, sizing, construction, schematics, and QC protocols.

Ensure accurate realisation of design intent in manufacturing.

Proactively identify process and manufacturing improvements, focusing on quality and finish.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
-
Act as a liaison between internal teams (Materials, Design, Technical Design, Merchandising) and external partners (Sourcing, Vendors, Quality).

Build strong working relationships to ensure alignment on strategy, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
• Project Management
-
Manage timelines for seasonal and non-seasonal products, following critical paths and ensuring on‑time delivery of prototypes, SMS, and bulk.

Apply agile methodologies and troubleshoot proactively to ensure timely, high‑quality, and cost‑effective execution.

Support Quality Control in reviewing finished goods against factory standards.
• Data Management & Reporting

Maintain the PLM system with up-to-date product data, ensuring accuracy and on-time seasonal inputs/outputs (specs, timelines, revisions, costings).

Ensure seamless information flow across Product Creation and Manufacturing teams.
• Product Costing

Develop and manage cost models toward predetermined GM% targets.

Collaborate with Merchandising and Sourcing to meet financial parameters without compromising quality or sustainability.

Complete technical specifications enabling vendors to execute efficiently for SMS and Bulk.
• Continuous Improvement & Feedback

Analyze market feedback and product performance to refine products and influence future development.

Ability to partner effectively with Merchandising, Design, Technical Design, and external stakeholders.

Ability to articulate technical details clearly to both technical and non‑technical partners.

Confident negotiator with internal and external stakeholders.

Capable of prioritizing workload across multi‑phase projects.

Comfortable working and traveling internationally, occasionally during early mornings or evenings.

Strong time management and interpersonal skills.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Development, Industrial Design, or related field.

Certifications in sustainable production or project management are a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe CC, and experience with PLM systems such as Flex and Enovia.

Several years of product development/technical experience in the apparel industry; outdoor performance or sustainable apparel experience strongly preferred.
