The Organization

Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was founded in 1971 by doctors and journalists and is today one of the largest independent medical emergency aid organizations in the world. Our teams help people in need in over 75 countries worldwide after natural disasters, during epidemics, or armed conflicts – regardless of their origin, religious or political beliefs.

The Job Description

As an intern, you are part of the eleven-member "Digital Team." The team is responsible for all digital activities of Doctors Without Borders Switzerland and belongs to the Communications and Fundraising department. Together with your German-speaking teammate in Zurich, you manage all social media channels for the German-speaking part of Switzerland, maintain exchange with our followers through community management, regularly communicate with our colleagues in Germany and Austria, and check other digital products (e.g., website or newsletter) for flawless German. From time to time, you have the opportunity to collaborate at the headquarters in Geneva with your eight French-speaking teammates.

Your Areas of Responsibility

Management of social media channels: publishing, community management, and monitoring
Content creation: producing text, image, and video content for various digital channels
Video editing (initial experience is an advantage)
Proofreading and translations into German
Publishing content on the website msf.ch/de
Support in implementing digital fundraising or communication campaigns
Monitoring the latest digital trends
Occasional support at weekend events for social media content

Your Profile

Excellent editorial skills in German
You enjoy social media, use tools (Canva, CapCut, or similar tools) effortlessly, and speak the language of various channels: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn
You also like to appear in front of the camera
Good oral and written English and French skills
Knowledge in video and image editing is an advantage
Initial experience with Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager or willingness to learn
