As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counseling is responsible for services in the field of child and youth welfare as well as career counseling. Children, adolescents, and families are at the center of our work.
To strengthen the central adoption authority, we are looking for a proven and committed specialist starting February 1, 2026, or by arrangement. In this responsible role, you assess the suitability of prospective adoptive parents, carry out child protection mandates for adopted children, and advise, inform, and support adoptive parents, authorities, and those searching for origins.
You bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Social Work or equivalent degree
- Several years of professional experience, preferably in child and youth welfare
- High social and professional competence as well as a confident demeanor
- Enjoyment in working with parents, children, and professionals
- Team-oriented, communicative, and open personality
- Independent, structured way of working
- Confident German language skills in speaking and writing as well as good oral English and French skills
