Inspector in the Enforcement of the Federal Act on Combating Illegal Employment

Office for Economy and Labor (AWA) - Labor Market Supervision Department (AMA) in the Labor Inspectorate (AI)

The Labor Inspectorate department is active in the areas of employee protection, noise protection, enforcement of the accompanying measures for free movement of persons and combating illegal employment.

We act as a hub between employers, employees, authorities, and professional organizations – and foster a pronounced informal culture where we meet on equal footing.

• Planning, organizing, and conducting on-site inspections within the framework of the enforcement of the Federal Act on Combating Illegal Employment (BGSA)
• Checking compliance with reporting and authorization obligations according to social security, foreigner, and withholding tax law
• Administrative file management and administration
• Ensuring the exchange of information with the special authorities designated by the Federal Act on Combating Illegal Employment
• Processing inspection results for statistical reporting to the federal and cantonal authorities
• Maintaining contact with external partners as well as involved authorities

• Completed vocational training with several years of professional experience (preferably in an inspection role)
• Confident and credible appearance, trust-building charisma, and personal maturity
• Assertiveness combined with decisiveness
• Enjoyment of interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration
• Very good commercial knowledge with confident German language skills in speaking and writing
• Independent working style while complying with legal requirements
• Expertise in the social security system is an advantage
• Connection to Thurgau with willingness for regular fieldwork using own vehicle
