Job Title Head Chef Category Kitchen Specialist Work Location Lugano Country Switzerland Start Date by agreement Type of Employment Seasonal position What we offerWe are a traditional first-class hotel on the Lungolago of Lugano with 65 beautiful rooms, a large restaurant LE GOURMET with Giardinetto and terrace for the summer season, a magnificent conference hall, with bar & swimming pool. Our guests are international & can enjoy à la carte and daily menus. The restaurant and in summer the Giardinetto are also available to passers-by as well as tourist groups. Business lunches for our seminar participants and refined dinners for special occasions complete our gastronomic program.
As a seminar hotel, you also cater to participants of courses and events in our beautiful conference hall La Panoramica (lunch, dinner, aperitifs).
TasksResponsibility for the entire kitchen & office area, leadership & training of staff, creating work schedules, purchasing goods, managing inventories, costing. Designing menus and the menu in general.
Participation in weekly management meetings, representing the concerns of the kitchen and kitchen staff to the management and various departments.
RequirementsWe are looking for a head chef or sous-chef for the independent management of the kitchen and purchasing. We expect several years of experience in first-class hotels with a similar structure in Switzerland & abroad. Very good knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine, but also specialties of Swiss & Ticino cuisine are required.
Ability to competently & calmly lead employees even in stressful situations and maintain oversight in case of problems.
You delight our demanding guests with seasonal culinary creations.
