Are you interested in working with people suffering from addiction? Then you are exactly right with us in the addiction-specific acute ward U2, at the Centre for Addiction Disorders (ZAE), Clinic for Adults (UPKE). The ward is aimed at people with problems dealing with psychotropic substances such as cocaine, heroin, alcohol, GHB and others. Depending on the goal, we offer qualified withdrawal treatment or consumption reduction, stabilisation of mental or physical health and support in social matters. The individuality of the patients is respected and their personal responsibility encouraged.

What to expect

• A lively, interdisciplinary team that meets those affected at eye level and works according to the latest professional standards
• Intensive collaboration with a variety of external agencies
• A committed team and exciting therapy offers in which nursing actively participates
• As head nurse, you are jointly responsible with the nursing department management for quality assurance and development of nursing work on the ward to keep it up to date with the latest evidence-based standards
• In the committee with all head nurses of the UPK, you can exchange ideas with colleagues and develop new projects
• We work resource-oriented and maintain a modern and person-centred approach with people suffering from addiction
• Your duties include conducting withdrawals from various substances such as alcohol, cocaine and GHB, dispensing medical heroin, wound care and much more
• As a key contact person, you are the main contact for patients from admission to discharge. You conduct addiction-specific conversations, set goals together with those affected in the interdisciplinary team and seek the best possible solutions

What distinguishes you

• Diploma as a registered nurse HF/FH. For foreign nursing diplomas, SRK registration is a prerequisite. The costs are covered by UPK
• You are curious, flexible and ideally already have experience in acute psychiatry or addiction work and are open to acquiring new knowledge through specialised further training
• You have an addiction-accepting attitude towards people with addiction disorders and can accept substance use as part of the illness
• You bring a high degree of independence and responsibility and take on a role model function in the nursing team as head nurse
• You are resilient even in emergency situations
• And you are willing to support our 24-hour operation in various shifts

The permanent position is available from 1 April 2027 or by arrangement.
