About the job
Founded in 1910 and newly renovated, the Restaurant Volkshaus Zürich embodies traditional, authentic cuisine, mainly produced with organic products. In our bar and restaurant spaces with a total of 260 seats, the charm of the 1920s meets casual modernity. As a meeting place and for connoisseurs, our house with its generous rooms is the right place to enjoy urban hospitality.
In addition, we offer space for up to 2000 people in our fully equipped and modern banquet and event rooms. National and international music top stars, party labels, classical concerts, general meetings, theater performances, and banquets enliven our house with over 2500 events per year. During the week, we serve classic lunch menus; in the evening, special offers; from Thursday to Sunday, we serve a roast cart, and every weekend we offer our guests brunch à la carte.
Restaurant Volkshaus at Helvetiaplatz. The name says it all. The focus is on uncomplicated, healthy, and confident gastronomy at fair prices. Inspired by colorful local ideas, we create an ambiance characterized by classic hospitality in our à la carte restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Participation and design of the evening special, professional preparation and presentation of dishes in the à la carte and banquet area
- Co-design of the lunch menu
- Processing of seasonal and regional products
- Ensuring a consistently clean and organized workplace
- Compliance with regulations regarding hygiene, quality, and occupational safety
- Support in training our apprentices
Requirements:
- You have completed basic training as a Cook EFZ
- Have professional experience as a junior cook
- Teamwork, creativity, and independence
- You have good manners and a neat appearance
- You communicate well in German
