The Secondary and Vocational Education Office of the Canton of Zurich is committed to secondary schools, vocational schools, providers of preparatory vocational years, and training companies in the interest of youth and the economy. The Human Resources department acts as a coordination and advisory office for the personnel matters of secondary schools as well as vocational and intermediate vocational schools with around 6,000 teachers and employees.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for an HR clerk 50% immediately or by agreement, temporarily until the end of 2027.

Your area of responsibility
As an HR clerk, you are responsible for the consistent implementation of legal requirements as well as the coordination of the assigned personnel processes for teaching staff as well as administrative and operational staff of the secondary and vocational schools. You carry out salary classifications, process employment changes, contract extensions, and terminations, and prepare calculations and orders for various types of leave for the staff. Control tasks during the school year and semester change, processing of substitute assignments, implementation of payments/offsetting of time credits, and preparation of further training orders also belong to your area of activity. In addition, you provide advice and handle applications from teaching staff for the Natel-Go offer and process seniority gift forms. If necessary, you also support HR process optimizations and projects.
Your profile
We are looking for a personality with commercial training and further education as a personnel assistant or equivalent training in the HR field. Not mandatory but advantageous is a federal specialist certificate as a personnel specialist or several years of professional experience in a similar HR function. You are a service-oriented, independent, and responsible person, have a confident command of the German language, and are proficient in using MS Office programs. Ideally, you are also familiar with the SAP-HR application. You enjoy working in a lively team and face daily challenges with the necessary composure and a touch of humor. Advantageously, you are also familiar with the public-law employment conditions of the Canton of Zurich.
