The Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM) at the University of Bern conducts research in various public health disciplines (www.ispm.unibe.ch).
The research group Social Spatial Health Systems Research (www.communityhealth.ch) led by Prof. Dr. phil. Dipl-Pol. Annika Frahsa is located within the paradigm of participatory health research and uses theories and methods from the social sciences to examine the contextual conditions of health in and with different communities.
Job profile:
- Administrative tasks (e.g. webpage updates)
- Support in qualitative health research, e.g. literature reviews, preparation of documentation, data cleaning, interview transcription.
- Support in data collection (focus groups, participant observation, interviews) and analysis (MAXQDA) (depending on profile and experience)
- Reporting and dissemination of research results via common communication channels (depending on profile and experience)
Requirements:
- Studies with thematic or methodological relevance (e.g. psychology, sports science, sociology, social anthropology and similar) at the University of Bern or the University of Fribourg (Bachelor or Master)
- Precise, well-organized, independent working style
- Good written expression and experience in writing texts for different target groups
- Proficiency in the MicrosoftTM Office suite
- Good English and German (written and spoken)
- Ability to work in a team
- First work experience in administrative tasks and text creation
- First experience in applying empirical social research (especially qualitative methods)
