Specialist in Natural Hazards (Focus on Hydraulic Engineering)

Your Tasks

• Management of the Natural Hazards Unit
• Development, maintenance and further development of natural hazard fundamentals, especially hazard maps, event registers, risk overviews and protection structure registers.
• Technical responsibility for hydrological and hydraulic analyses as well as support and review of hydraulic engineering and surface runoff projects.
• Advice and support for municipalities and authorities in planning and construction projects as well as in all matters relating to natural hazards.
• Participation in event and risk management, including emergency planning, event mapping, flood service and support during severe weather events.

Your Profile

• Professional or university degree as an environmental engineer, civil engineer or a related field
• Experience in handling projects in the field of hydraulic engineering and/or natural hazards (project management advantageous)
• Proven knowledge in modelling, GIS applications and data models
• Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration and confident manner with various stakeholders
• Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style
• Fluent German (spoken and written)
