Job Description

Reporting to the Supervisor or Assistant Manager of their department, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service
• Be responsible for the proper execution of setups and preparation of their area
• Carefully perform the service tasks assigned
• Actively participate in all restaurant setups
• Serve customers according to their expectations and anticipate their needs and preferences
• Regularly replenish stations with clean cutlery, clean glasses, and various condiments that are part of the setup
• Organize the order of kitchen orders, follow up on allergens with the responsible persons, change cutlery, and clear tables
• Know the menu and wine pairings, associated grape varieties
• Actively participate in cleaning tasks within their department
• Be flexible and cooperative in all circumstances, especially if required to work temporarily in another department
• Learn the technical and emotional standards of LQA and apply them
• Strive to perfect technical and theoretical knowledge to ensure perfect service for demanding clientele
• Participate in a performance review with their superior once during the internship
• Maintain excellent contact with colleagues
• Commit to the quality of their service, discretion, and perfect honesty
• Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling, and remain calm at all times
• Respect ergonomic work standards in health & safety rules, hygiene, and sanitary prescriptions
• Be cooperative with the goal of limiting losses, whether related to sustainable development and/or good stock management of the department
• Respect the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and the company
• Any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Internship as part of hotel training
• Fluency in French
• Excellent knowledge of English
• Knowledge of a third language is an asset
• Previous service experience
• Knowledge of Silverware tool is an asset
• Ability to work in a team
• Flexibility and initiative
• Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously and manage last-minute changes

Physical requirements of the position (include, but are not limited to):

• Constant: standing and walking throughout the work period
• Frequent: lifting and carrying loads
• Occasional: kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional: climbing up or down stairs and ramps

VISA REQUIREMENTS

To be able to work in Switzerland, the candidate must possess a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
