About the job
What to expect
- Stringent cost control: You are responsible for managing central expense items, especially IT costs (OPEX: licenses, maintenance, consulting, etc. / CAPEX: hardware and software), marketing, personnel ancillary costs, as well as other operating expenses.
- Financial optimization: In collaboration with indirect purchasing, you review contracts, identify savings potentials based on historical data, and actively support negotiations with suppliers.
- Forecasting & monitoring: You conduct monthly actual vs. plan comparisons and prepare quarterly forecasts to realize cost savings in the income statement.
- Planning lead: You take the lead in the budget process for the following year, coordinate input from departments, and know how to critically question and "challenge" planned figures.
- Empowerment of departments: You act as a sparring partner for cost center managers, create transparency about their budgets, and promote a mindset in which each area actively takes responsibility for its costs.
- Process innovation: With a mindset of continuous improvement, you optimize and automate existing manual controlling processes.
- Data-driven management: You define meaningful cost KPIs and develop dashboards together with IT in our BI tool to make key figures transparent and traceable.
- Reporting development: You actively drive the further development of our cost center reporting newly launched in 2026.
- Accounting interface: You work closely with financial accounting to ensure cause- and period-appropriate posting on the correct cost centers and accounts. You also provide occasional active support in the month-end closing process.
What you bring
- You have a university degree in business administration (focus on controlling/finance) and already have some relevant professional experience (approx. 1–2 years) in cost controlling.
- Much more important than many years of routine is your inner drive. You are eager to make a difference, question the status quo, and actively shape processes. You are not just a "number keeper" but want to understand the operational world behind the costs.
- You feel comfortable in a dynamic environment where priorities can change. You show a high willingness to learn and have the ambition to quickly familiarize yourself with complex corporate structures to become a sparring partner at eye level.
- You are proficient in Excel and ideally have already had some contact with BI tools. A significant part of your role is also to understand and deepen our ERP processes (Navision). You enjoy understanding the logic behind the data, automating manual workflows, and driving digitalization in controlling.
- You have the empathy to support departments but also the courage and assertiveness to critically question budgets and demand the necessary cost discipline.
- Fluent German skills.
Benefits
- Discounts: Attractive discounts in the Brack online shop as well as lunch discounts and staff restaurants in Mägenwil and Willisau.
- Recreation: At least 5 weeks of vacation, with the additional possibility of vacation purchase and unpaid leave.
- Development: Internal training in our own academy as well as financial participation in external further education.
- Family: 18 weeks of paid maternity leave with the possibility of extension and 4 weeks of paid paternity leave.
- Insurance: Above mandatory – 100% continued salary payment as well as full financing of daily sickness allowance insurance by the employer.
- Mobility: Free parking spaces, financial participation in public transport, and pool vehicles for business appointments.
