Senior Physician / Head of Clinic - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
We are looking for a senior physician or head of clinic at 80% or 100% (to be agreed) in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy, for a start as soon as possible, within the Transcultural Unit for Children and Adolescents (UTEA) and the Regional Migrant Care Unit (USMiR) of the University Service of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (SUPEA) of the Department of Psychiatry at CHUV.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education.
The SUPEA is a central reference in child and adolescent psychiatry for the Lausanne region and the canton of Vaud. It develops a community psychiatry approach, promoting local outpatient care, specialized hospitalizations, day center services, and strong collaboration with the external network.
The UTEA works notably with unaccompanied minors (MNA) and in situations where transcultural issues complicate child psychiatric care. It promotes access to mental health care through a psychosocial approach closely coordinated with the network.
The USMiR cares for accompanied minors from asylum seekers according to an integrated health house model, allowing coherent and efficient care that takes psychosocial and legal issues into account.
These units actively participate in training, clinical research, and the development of transcultural practices.
Mission
- You are the co-medical head of the UTEA and USMiR for minors at the child psychiatry level
- You contribute to the organization and clinical management of the two units in collaboration with medical, psychotherapist, and nursing managers
- You work closely with other managers and units of SUPEA as well as with the cantonal coordinator for migrant mental health
- You participate in the development of strategic and clinical projects in collaboration with the SUPEA management and institutional partners
- You ensure the quality of care and clinical supervision of collaborators
- You provide direct and indirect clinical activity with children, adolescents, and their families
- You actively contribute to networking and inter-institutional coordination
- You participate in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education missions as well as research activities
- You ensure administrative follow-up related to clinical activity and participate in on-call duties of the service.
Profile
- You hold an FMH title in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy or a title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions
- You hold an MD or PhD degree or are in the process of obtaining one for the senior physician position
- You have confirmed experience in caring for children and adolescents
- You have or wish to develop expertise in transcultural psychiatry and mental health of migrants in vulnerable situations
- You master French at C1 level, certified if you are non-French speaking
- You demonstrate excellent interdisciplinary collaboration skills and a strong interest in networking
- You are driven by scientific curiosity and have an interest in the complementarity of theoretical models.
