This role supports Arxada’s energy and sustainability strategy by managing CO₂ allocation, emissions monitoring, and long-term energy planning. The position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizes internal processes, and contributes to the company’s climate goals through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration. A key responsibility is the development and maintenance of a comprehensive mass and energy balance model for the Visp Verbund, which serves as a foundation for operational optimization and strategic planning. The role requires a strong background in modeling and simulation to support scenario analysis, forecasting, and resource efficiency initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:

Validates annual CO₂ allocations from BAFU and defines internal EUA distribution processes.

Coordinates with BAFU on CO₂ allocation targets for 2026–2030.

Prepares and submits CO₂ monitoring reports to BAFU and internal stakeholders.

Creates and maintains a mass and energy balance model for the Visp Verbund to support optimization and reporting.

Documents standards and ensures allocations are recorded in SAP.

Analyzes cracker and steam allocation data and updates them regularly.

Develops a 5-year energy development plan, including cost and project impact assessments.

Tracks RNZ projects and supports/improves RNZ reimbursement reporting by identifying and addressing data gaps in the monitoring process.

Identifies new opportunities for energy efficiency and innovation (e.g., KIG funding).

Forecasts future energy demand and supports long-term budgeting.
Qualifications & Experience:

Experience in System modeling or Energy & Chem industry will be preferred.

MS or PhD in energy, engineering, math, informatics.

Fluent English and German
