The Hospital Network Appenzell Ausserrhoden with the Herisau Acute Hospital and the Psychiatric Center AR in Herisau ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.
