Lawyer for Political Affairs 80 - 100%The Office for Informatics (AFI) is the IT competence center of the Canton of Zurich.
It provides comprehensive services in the area of central IT infrastructure and cantonal-wide applications for the directorates, authorities, judiciary, and independent institutions. Commissioned with the implementation of the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, the AFI accompanies the canton into the digital world.
In the legal service of the Office for Informatics, you work at the interface between administration and politics. You are close to strategic issues, accompany political decision-making processes from a legal perspective, and contribute your expertise where it has an impact.
The Legal & Procurement area is closely integrated into management and specialist departments and sees itself as a competent sparring partner for legal and political questions. In a collegial and professional environment, you receive the necessary scope of action to take responsibility, set accents, and further develop existing processes.
Your tasks:
- Preparation of proposals to the government council, handling parliamentary initiatives as well as accompanying consultations and legislative projects.
- Preparation of legally sound documents, development of guidelines, and definition and further development of processes for dealing with political affairs.
- Close cooperation with the communications officer as well as participation in the editorial team for legal and political content and inquiries based on the principle of public access.
- Legal support for procurements, participation in drafting and reviewing contracts, and advice on procurement law issues.
- Legal support in projects, especially in the areas of data protection, information security, and public law.
- Active participation in the further development of the Legal & Procurement team as well as contributing expertise in interdisciplinary exchange.
Your profile:
- Completed law degree and several years of professional experience in public administration (canton, federal or municipality).
- Solid understanding of political processes, parliamentary instruments, and internal administrative decision-making processes.
- Proven experience in drafting demanding texts as well as confident German and English skills in spoken and written form; further training in communication or new media is an advantage.
- High advisory competence and enjoyment of interdisciplinary exchange with different stakeholders.
- Independent, structured way of working combined with the ability to prepare complex issues in a target group-oriented manner.
- Willingness to shape, reliability, and openness in dealing with changes as well as a communicative, binding manner that creates trust.
