Tasks & Responsibilities

Development, further development, and provision of model-based optimization routines for power plant operation and energy trading

Operational application of optimization solutions in daily business including weekend duty

Co-responsibility for the optimal management of power plants along the entire value chain

Preparation of offers for the balancing energy market (capacity auctions) as well as participation in relevant market processes

Analysis and improvement of production, load, and inflow forecasts (hydrology)

Contact point for economic and operational issues of power plants, including consulting power plant and partner organizations

Contract responsibility as well as representation of the organization towards power plants, partners, and Swissgrid

Management of subprojects as well as professional support and coaching within the department

Profile & Skills

Completed engineering or natural science degree; business administration knowledge is an advantage

Practical experience in the energy industry, ideally with a focus on hydropower, power plant optimization, or hydrology

Experience in data analysis, modeling, and machine learning, preferably with Python

Knowledge in the area of inflow and outflow forecasts as well as hydrological model systems is a great plus

Entrepreneurial thinking, high initiative, and solution-oriented working style

Analytical, structured approach and ability to find pragmatic solutions in complex situations

Team player with enthusiasm for quality, innovation, and continuous development

Very good German and English skills, French skills are an advantage
