The Office for the Enforcement of Sentences (AJV) Graubünden is a department of the Department of Justice, Security and Health of the Canton of Graubünden. The AJV is responsible for the enforcement of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. In Graubünden, the enforcement of sentences and measures is regulated as a unified field and holistic task, in which various professional groups work interdisciplinarily with offenders to prevent further delinquency.

The Realta Correctional Facility (JVA) serves the open penal system for men according to the Swiss Penal Code.

We are looking for a Dipl. Nursing Specialist HF to start immediately or by arrangement

Your area of responsibility

• Care and counselling of admitted persons from various cultures in the health sector
• Organisation and implementation of nursing measures taking into account legal, safety and operational requirements
• Initial assessments in medical questions and emergencies as well as organisation of medical rounds and possible hospital admissions
• Ordering, checking and preparing medication for dispensing
• Provision and administration of heroin-assisted treatment as well as other substitution treatments
• Creating medical documentation and writing reports and journal entries
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with somatic and psychiatric specialists as well as internal departments
• Providing day shifts between 06:30 – 18:30 and rotating weekend shifts within the team

What we expect from you

• Completed training as a nursing specialist HF with several years of professional experience
• Additional training in emergency medicine, intensive care or psychiatry is an advantage
• You see dealing with people from different cultures who are in difficult life situations as a positive challenge
• Resilient, confident, team- and criticism-capable personality with high social competence, assertiveness and ability to set boundaries, who keeps a cool head in delicate situations
• Good IT skills as well as good written and spoken German; additional knowledge of cantonal and foreign languages is an advantage
• A spotless record (no entries in the criminal and debt registers)
