Medical Controller - Patient Administrative Management Directorate
The CHUV is looking for a medical controller at 80%–100%, for an open-ended contract starting February 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
In this context, medico-economic issues are becoming increasingly important for the institution, which faces the complexity of tariff structures.
The Patient Administrative Management Directorate is responsible for patient reception and admission, billing of services, medical coding, and managing relationships with health insurance companies.
Mission
- You perform medico-economic impact analyses concerning the use of diagnostic codes (ICD-10-GM) and intervention codes (CHOP)
- You ensure the creation, maintenance, and quality of the databases necessary for these analyses
- You act as a medico-economic referent for internal and external partners (SwissDRG, H+)
- You participate as an expert in discussions on billing rules developed by the responsible bodies
- You analyze new tariff rules and assess their impact on clinical activity and the institution's budget
- You support change management regarding the entry of diagnoses and services related to the coding of inpatient and outpatient cases
- You contribute to the continuing education of teams responsible for medical coding.
Profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in economic sciences or an equivalent qualification
- You have training in econometrics and/or statistics
- You have at least 5 years of experience in medico-economic analyses, ideally in the public or socio-health sector
- You master common office tools and are comfortable with IT tools
- You have knowledge of medical coding and medical management control
- You have proven experience in change management (an asset)
- You are recognized for your proactivity, patience, and sense of service
- You are proficient in German.
🧆 Depending on your profile, the salary class will be between levels 11 and 12.
