The District Court Winterthur is a court of first instance with around 75 employees. Each year, the District Court Winterthur handles over 6,000 civil and criminal cases.

An auditor position at the District Court Winterthur allows graduates (MLaw) to enter legal professional practice. The auditor position lasts a net year (14 months), which is credited as a practical year in accordance with the admission requirements for the bar exam.

Your area of responsibility

As an auditor, you regularly change your area of work within the District Court Winterthur and are each assigned to a team consisting of a court clerk and a judge. You participate in hearings and assist in processing the cases handled in civil and criminal law. You support your team in drafting decisions, taking minutes, conducting legal research, and various other legal as well as administrative tasks. In this way, you gain insight into different areas of law and various types of proceedings.

Your profile

• Completed law degree (MLaw);
• Very good knowledge of the official language;
• Good reputation (criminal record extract);
• Legal capacity (certificate of legal capacity).
