Medical Products Buyer for the Purchasing Center (CAIB)
The Purchasing and Biomedical Engineering Center (CAIB), based in Malley, is looking for a medical products buyer with a workload between 80% - 100%. The starting date is scheduled for April 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals and one of the best in the world according to the 2025 ranking by Newsweek magazine. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading and European-scale role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching, and research units can fully focus on their core business by providing and developing efficient operational logistics services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilization, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The Purchasing and Biomedical Engineering Center (CAIB) defines and implements a common purchasing policy for CHUV and the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG). It negotiates purchasing conditions and concludes contracts to ensure the supply of institutions under the best market conditions. It ensures the supply of medical goods, equipment, and general items for CHUV and HUG.
Mission
- You lead, manage, and develop the purchasing portfolio
- You ensure compliance with public procurement law within your scope
- You propose purchasing strategies and plan files in line with the needs of clients and institutions
- You monitor performance and achievement of objectives within your scope
- You establish strategies that enable the institution to meet its goals in terms of costs, quality, and deadlines
- You advise various departments on commercial strategy
- You conduct sourcing and market studies to define purchasing strategies for your portfolio
- You advise your clients on identifying the right needs
- You lead negotiations and contract management with suppliers
- You make purchases for the CAIB network and participate in inter-cantonal negotiations.
Profile
- You hold a federal buyer certificate, HES training (Bachelor level), Cefco/ASAA purchasing training, or an equivalent recognized qualification
- You have at least 5 years of confirmed experience in the commercial or purchasing field
- You have good knowledge of the current legislation on public procurement processes
- You master a second language useful for the role (German and/or English) - minimum B1 level
- You have excellent proficiency in office tools
- You are organized and rigorous
- You are a good listener with strong negotiation skills
- You are proactive and ready to invest in a dynamic and evolving team environment.
