Following the resignation of Bank Councilor Erich Amstutz as of June 30, 2018, the government council elected Iwan Scherer as his successor at the Nidwalden Cantonal Bank.

Since 2001, Iwan Scherer has been co-owner and member of the management of Architektur & Baumanagement AG, based in Dallenwil and Lucerne. The company employs 16 staff. From 2002 to 2012, Scherer was an administrative judge in the canton of Nidwalden. Since 2003, he has been a claims expert at NSV and since 2011 a member of the building commission of the municipality of Stans. He is a certified construction manager and construction economist, 48 years old, lives in Stans, is married, and father of three children.

Iwan Scherer meets the requirements profile jointly defined by the government council and the bank council of NKB. He is a profound expert on local SMEs and has a good network with local businesses.
