As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counseling is responsible for services in the area of child and youth welfare as well as career counseling. Children, adolescents, and families are at the center of our work. We dedicate ourselves to them daily with great passion and commitment.
The biz Oerlikon is a cantonal competence center for career, study, and career counseling.
We are looking for a study and career advisor starting June 2026 or by agreement to strengthen our team in a continuously growing secondary school environment.
Your tasks:
You are responsible for individual counseling of high school students in their study choice and are regularly present at the secondary schools, where you also advocate for the study counseling service with the school management. You organize events for students and advise students as well as professionals regarding their education or career path. In our information center, you provide customers with initial orientation on their professional path through short consultations.
Your profile:
You preferably have a university degree in psychology or a related field of study. You already hold a degree in career, study, and career counseling or are very advanced in training for it and have extensive counseling experience. Applications without significant educational progress in the MAS BSLB cannot be considered. You are an independent, contact- and service-oriented personality with high counseling and presentation skills. You succeed in responding empathetically and in a differentiated manner to the concerns of those seeking advice and support them in their process with appropriate methods. Continuous reflection on your professional activity is a matter of course for you. You can ensure the implementation of events in the secondary school environment in a target group-appropriate manner. You succeed in establishing and maintaining supportive relationships with customers and institutions and positioning yourself as an expert.
