The EOC, the multisite hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. The organization effectively combines a local approach with an overall vision, guaranteeing the population a comprehensive and nearby hospital offer, regardless of where the services are requested.

Profile
The EOC endocrinology and diabetology service guarantees, as its primary mission, specialized care for the entire Canton of Ticino and is therefore present at all the institute's locations. The service is also active at the academic level, within the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Italian Switzerland, and develops and manages research projects also in collaboration with external institutes.
At the EOC site in Lugano, the service is located at the Italian Hospital where specialist visits are held daily, with particular reference to thyroid/parathyroid diseases and diabetes. The service also collaborates in managing inpatients at the Civic Hospital with ad hoc consultations.
The physician works independently and interdisciplinarily, promoting the skills required by the function of Head Physician.
Necessary requirements
- degree/diploma in medicine and specialization title in endocrinology or equivalent and related registration with MedReg before starting work activity.
- For physicians with foreign titles, recognition by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions MEBEKO and related registration with MedReg before starting work activity is mandatory;
- proven knowledge of the Italian language
- (required level at least B2) with related registration with MedReg
- before starting the activity, desired knowledge of the other national languages and English;
- proficiency in IT tools.
