Project Manager Artificial Intelligence (AI) fixed-term 80 - 100%
The Office for Economy (AWI) in the Economic Directorate of the Canton of Zurich contributes to strengthening the economic location Zurich. With its around 100 employees, AWI bundles economic competencies: location promotion, work permits, labor relations, labor inspectorate, and economics.
The Canton of Zurich has a strong AI ecosystem. To further strengthen the location – for example through the Innovation Sandbox for AI, programs for start-ups and SMEs, as well as societal dialogue – we are looking for an engaged and coordination-strong personality as Project Manager AI starting immediately or by agreement. The position is limited to two years, with the option of extension.
Your main tasks:
- Leading subprojects within the framework of the Innovation Sandbox for AI
- Collaborating in the development and implementation of measures to promote AI startups, AI use in SMEs, and to foster societal dialogue
- Monitoring the development of the AI location Zurich (e.g., through commissioned studies, interviews, workshops with key stakeholders)
- Building and maintaining relationships with business, universities, and administration as well as public relations and knowledge transfer by creating internal and external reports and presentations
- Deputizing for the program management and participating in the activities of location promotion
Your profile:
- University degree (Uni/ETH/FH) with a Master’s in natural sciences, economics, social sciences, or a related field
- Several years of experience in project management, ideally in the context of innovation, digitalization, AI, or administration
- Strong strategic and conceptual skills as well as enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- High communication skills, networked thinking, and the ability to convey complex topics understandably
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented project management with high personal responsibility
- Willingness to work at events and travel abroad
- Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
