As the Consumer Behavior & Behavior Change department at the Institute for Marketing and Corporate Management at the University of Bern, we are committed to teaching and research with fundamentals and applied projects with partners from practice.
At the center of our work is the goal to understand attitudes, decisions, and behaviors of consumers in order to derive and empirically test effective measures to promote health and sustainability behavior.
Starting January 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are filling a postdoctoral position with a content focus on habit change.
Tasks
• Innovative research in the field of Consumer Behavior & Behavior Change
• Advancing own scientific qualification
• Presentation of research results at conferences, workshops, and meetings
• Publication of scientific articles
• (Co-) leading applied research projects
• Exchange and engagement in the scientific community
• Acquisition of third-party funding
• Contribution to the teaching activities of our department
• Supervision of students at bachelor, master, and doctoral levels
Requirements
• recently completed doctorate in business administration or psychology or a related social or economic science field (maximum 3-6 years after doctorate)
• Strong research interest in our field
• Enjoyment of experimental work
• Knowledge in social psychology / applied psychology desired
• Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form.

Further information on tasks and employment conditions can be found in the Postdoc Regulations of the University of Bern . The maximum academic age from doctorate at the start of employment is three years for Early Postdocs and six years for Advanced Postdocs. The duration of the employment is initially limited to three years. The minimum employment rate is usually 80%, the Protected Research Time is 50% of the employment rate.
