Medical secretary for the Nyon consultation
The Nyon consultation of the Department of Psychiatry is looking for a medical secretary at 50% for a start date on April 1, 2026, within the framework of a permanent contract.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in the fields of medical care, research, and education.
The Nyon consultation takes care of adults as well as people over 65 years old, in a specialized and outpatient approach.
For adults, the consultation offers in-depth investigations, specialized diagnostics, as well as treatments and care for mental and behavioral disorders. The therapeutic approach is centered on the patient, their relatives, and the continuity of care. An initial assessment is carried out by the Emergency-Crisis Unit before referral to the outpatient consultation.
For people over 65 years old, the consultation offers specialized consultations, mental and psychological assessments, consultations to support relatives, as well as multidisciplinary evaluations.
Mission
- You ensure the telephone and physical reception of patients, their relatives, and visitors to the consultation
- You manage telephone calls, user orientation, and the administrative coordination of requests
- You handle the administrative management of outpatients, including admission, data updating, and control of service entry
- You guarantee the rigorous maintenance of medical records, including typing and proofreading of medical documents (reports, correspondence, discharge letters)
- You ensure the follow-up of medical information requests and the archiving of files
- You contribute to the smooth running of outpatient units by managing mail and maintaining dashboards.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least 3 years of experience in a medical secretariat, working independently
- You have perfect command of French, both spoken and written; knowledge of a foreign language is an asset
- You have excellent mastery of common IT tools; knowledge of institutional applications is an advantage
- You demonstrate a developed sense of service, empathy, and ease in a multidisciplinary environment
- You know how to adapt your communication to sensitive situations and manage priorities rigorously
- You have a good knowledge of the Vaud socio-health network and the functioning of state and semi-public structures related to the psychiatric field.
