About the job
The Department of Correctional Services, as the authority responsible for admission and execution, is responsible for the enforcement of criminal sanctions. Attached to the department is the probation service, which plays a central role in relapse prevention, social integration, as well as in the support and supervision of offenders.
We are looking for a
Probation Officer 50%
starting May 1, 2026, or by arrangement, with the workplace in Glarus.
Tasks
- Implementation of probation services with a focus on relapse prevention and social integration of offenders in relevant areas of life
- Early and coordinated planning of release preparations in close cooperation with the affected persons and work partners
- Implementation of community service, electronic monitoring, and violence counseling sessions
- Regulation, support, and supervision of the execution of outpatient therapeutic measures as well as activity, contact, and area bans
- Writing written case concepts and reports for the correctional authorities, public prosecutors, and courts
- Participation in (inter-)cantonal expert committees and projects
- Support of the Department Head of Correctional Services
Requirements
- Completed training in the social field at HF or FH level
- Professional experience in counseling or supporting people in challenging life situations
- Knowledge of correctional services, forensics, and/or case management is an advantage
- Resilient, open, and honest personality with high social competence
- Enjoy working with different professionals and in a small team
- Confidence in spoken and written language
