In this interesting role, you will act as the deputy to the data protection advisor responsible for the overall operational data protection of the Cantonal Police and support the legal department team.
Your area of responsibility
- Development of data protection impact assessments in close cooperation with IT project managers
- Processing of IDG requests (file inspection, data deletion) including the preparation of contestable orders
- Advising line managers on all data protection issues
- Maintaining contact with external authorities
- Legal and technical clarifications as well as litigation in various legal areas
- Participation in working and project groups, drafting regulations and instructions
- Supporting the legal department in other legal areas (administrative, police, and criminal law)
- Teaching and instruction activities at the Zurich Police School as well as in internal training and further education
Your profile
- Completed law degree (Master, lic. iur.); bar admission or other additional qualifications (Dr. iur., LL.M. etc.) are an advantage
- Several years of professional experience (at least 5 years), ideally in public law or data protection law, or strong interest and willingness to quickly familiarize yourself with cantonal data protection law
- Precise working style and very good written communication skills
- Ability to clearly present complex legal issues and develop practical solutions
- IT affinity or solid IT knowledge, good English skills
- Interest in police work and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- Resilient, reliable, and organized personality with high social competence and diplomatic demeanor
