The Institute of Forensic Medicine (IRM) is looking for a prospective psychologist to conduct traffic psychology tests as part of a controlled study on driving under the influence of cannabis starting mid-January 2026.
Tasks- At IRM Bern: Initial examination of participants (45 persons, individually), approx. 2 hours each: introductory interview, traffic psychology tests (reaction tests, divided attention), measurement with pupillograph. Documentation of test results.
- Assistance with capillary blood sampling from the fingertip (not venous blood), saliva and breath samples, and application of measuring devices for blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, as well as data collection.
- Filling out questionnaires, creating a case file.
- At the military training area in Thun: 41 fixed appointments, 1 day per participant, 08:15 - 17:15. Study days are: 24-27 March 2026, 30 March - 1 April 2026, 13-17 April 2026, 20-24 April 2026, 28 April - 1 May 2026, 7-8 May 2026, 11-13 May 2026, 18-22 May 2026, 1-5 June 2026, 8-10 June 2026, 12 June 2026 and 15-19 June 2026.
Requirements
- Willingness to work with study participants on fixed dates (see above) plus by arrangement (on initial examination dates), supported by the study team on site.
- Good observation skills (of participants, including after consumption of a cannabis joint).
- A careful, precise and reliable working method
- Interpersonal skills, empathetic also towards participants in a cannabis-impaired state.
