At the Institute for Corporate Accounting and Controlling, Department of Managerial Accounting IUC-MA (Prof. Dr. Markus Arnold), University of Bern, the position of Administrative Clerk is to be filled from spring 2026 or by agreement.
What to expect
- You support the department director and the team in all administrative matters.
- You enjoy a hub function as well as independent support and coordination tasks.
- You are the contact person of the Managerial Accounting department in all administrative, personnel, and financial matters and ensure smooth information flow through empathetic and clear communication.
- Consultation and contact person for employees, students, lecturers as well as external organizations and guest researchers
- Correspondence and appointment scheduling, maintenance of the homepage
- Organization of conferences, trips, seminars, and workshops, both internal and external to the university
- Managing teaching and study offers, exam coordination (KSL and ILIAS)
- Personnel: Administrative tasks from recruitment to departure, absence, time and salary control, expense reports
- Preparation of teaching contracts and agreements for domestic and foreign guest researchers
- Finance: Budgeting, management and administration of operating and third-party funds, accounts receivable and payable workflow, order management
- Responsible for Quality Management (IKS) and Occupational Safety (KOPAS)
Requirements
- EFZ commercial clerk or equivalent training, several years of professional experience preferably in university administration
- Friendly personality with organizational skills, independence, and service orientation
- High professional and social competence, ability to work in a team
- Precise and reliable working style
- Proficient use of IT tools (MS Office, SAP, etc.)
- Very good German and English skills
