Shiptec AG is seeking, by arrangement, a responsible, reliable and independent individual as Head of Construction Department in Shipbuilding, 80-100%, permanent.

For the shipbuilding sector, we are looking for a strong leader with technical know-how and organisational talent. As Head of Construction, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of our shipbuilding projects and make a significant contribution to the success of our shipyard.

Shiptec AG is a leading company in the fields of ship engineering, shipbuilding and ship technical services. It serves professional ship operators in public transport, excursion shipping, transport and hydraulic engineering as well as authorities and water rescue. Shiptec AG is a company of the SGV Group.

Your area of responsibility

• Leadership and further development of employees in the construction department
• Coordination of the departments carpentry, painting and shipbuilding metal construction
• Ensuring efficient work planning, work allocation and deadline monitoring within the department
• Primary contact person for cross-departmental technical and organisational issues
• Responsibility for the implementation of improvement measures and continuous optimisation of processes
• Leading projects, conversions, maintenance and production-related tasks in the construction department
• Ensuring cooperation between departments and high quality in execution
• Ensuring smooth operations and timely service delivery in the construction department
• Identifying customer needs and market potentials and deriving suitable offers
• Participation in the development and responsibility for the implementation of the strategy in the construction department
• Responsibility for the preparation and calculation of quotations in cooperation with the responsible specialist departments
• Active involvement in the acquisition of projects and orders as well as further development of the customer and service portfolio

Requirements profile

• Technical basic training in a craft or industrial profession, for example as a plant and apparatus builder, carpenter or painter, supplemented by further training as a certified technician HF, a university of applied sciences degree or a comparable qualification
• Strong business and entrepreneurial understanding
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in the technical field or industrial production environment
• Experience in coordinating different departments as well as in planning and controlling workflows
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills as well as a solution-oriented working style
• High quality, deadline and responsibility awareness as well as enjoyment in working with different professional groups
• Openness to change, improvement processes and new working methods
