Together with the Higher Technical School for Health Central Switzerland (XUND), we train about ten BMA HF annually.
The training to become a certified biomedical analyst HF lasts three years and is divided into a practical and a school part. The prospective BMAs are practically trained in the laboratories of LUKS. They go through at least two different laboratories of various specialist areas at our locations.
Your field of activity
Biomedical analysts (BMA) HF examine samples of tissue, cells, and body fluids in medical laboratories. They are responsible for precise results that are indispensable for disease diagnosis and therapy.
- Linking theory and practice
- Performing analyses and technical work in appropriately equipped laboratories
- Correct and safe handling of biological test material
- Performing internal and external quality assurance and control
- Learning the clinical significance of diagnoses and laboratory results
- Knowledge of the application and reliability of devices and instruments
- Knowledge and basic skills in different work situations
Lucerne:
- Hematology laboratory (hematology, hemostasis, immunohematology, transfusion medicine)
- Clinical chemistry and immunology (clinical chemistry, clinical immunology)
- Medical microbiology

Sursee:

Our requirements
- Completed secondary level II, technical college or gymnasium diploma
- Proficiency in German language spoken and written (C2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Basic computer skills (Internet, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic knowledge of English (A2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Interest in natural sciences
- Abstract-logical thinking
- Technical understanding
- Good powers of observation

The application process starts via XUND. An application directly to LUKS is not necessary. If you pass the aptitude test or interview at XUND, your application documents will be forwarded to LUKS.
The admission procedure includes the following steps:

- Aptitude test and interview at XUND
- Apply for a training place at LUKS
- Interview at LUKS
- 3-day selection internship at LUKS
The training always starts in September.
