Head Gourmet Louis: Guest Service, Wine and Service (m/f) 60-100% - Basel
The restaurant Weiherschloss Bottmingen was built in the second half of the 13th century and was first mentioned in documents in 1363. It is the only preserved water castle in the Leimental and is located in a dreamlike English park on the outskirts of Basel. The extraordinary historic complex is under federal and cantonal monument protection. Today, Schloss Bottmingen is a gastronomic establishment of high culinary quality with many historic castle rooms for private banquets. In the beautiful Weiherschloss there are two restaurants: "Brasserie du Château" & "Gourmet Louis" (15 Gault Millau points). Creations of classic French cuisine as well as creative gourmet dishes are served depending on the season. The romantic and stylish rooms are especially popular for weddings and festive occasions of all kinds. In summer, guests enjoy the romantic atmosphere on the garden terrace directly by the pond.
To support our Gourmet Louis (15 Gault Millau points), we are looking immediately or by arrangement for an open personality as:
Head Gourmet Louis: Guest Service, Wine and Service (m/f) 60-100%, who passionately further develops our Gourmet Louis directly with the guest
Your tasks:
- Care and advice for our guests from reception to farewell at the highest level
- You inspire our demanding guests with your personality, warmth, and competence
- Co-design of the wine service and accompaniment of special menus and events
- Maintenance of the wine list, the wine cellar, and the wine refrigerators
- Inventory of beverages
- Active participation in the further development of our overall culinary experience.
Requirements for you:
- You have completed training in classic service
- You bring experience in upscale gastronomy and appreciate quality down to the last detail
- You understand gourmet cuisine and wine – perhaps you even have a WSET qualification or similar
- You have a great interest and affinity for this area
- You do not see yourself as a "plate carrier" but as a storyteller, host, and ambassador of enjoyment
- You are open, warm, and present – a person who creates atmosphere and delights guests
- You are extroverted, confident, and love to be in contact with guests.
- You love variety – from fine dining service to private banquets
- You speak fluent German and can also communicate in English and French
