About the job
Your Tasks
- You will take on independent work in collaboration with project leaders in the field of sustainable transformation research with references to energy, space, and transport.
- You have good knowledge and skills in empirical social research with a focus on quantitative methods and participatory approaches (qualitative interviews and workshops).
- You prepare draft reports in German and English.
- You write a dissertation related to the subject areas of the competence center (see projects on the homepage), which is supervised at a university authorized to award doctorates.
- You develop concepts, project outlines, and applications.
- You publish research results in scientific and practice-oriented journals.
- You present research results at national and international research conferences.
Your Profile
- You are a social scientist (economics, sociology, social psychology, or similar) with an interest in mobility/transport, society, space, and energy as well as sustainable development. In our interdisciplinary team, research approaches from economics, sociology, economic geography, data science, and social psychology are particularly welcome.
- You have an excellent university degree (Master of Science/Arts).
- You meet the admission criteria for doctoral studies at a university. Ideally, there is contact with a chair for supervising the dissertation.
- You have proven expertise and methodological competence in statistics, knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS, R, Python, Tableau, as well as analytical skills. Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) is an advantage.
- You are a communicative and team-oriented personality.
- Independence, reliability, and a high level of commitment complete your profile.
