System Engineer – Linux Applications in the Police Environment 80–100 %

Your Role
- Ensuring enterprise application operations (2nd/3rd level support)
- Integration, optimization, and lifecycle management of Linux applications while adhering to agreed service levels
- Collaborating on the maintenance and further development of system- and platform-spanning interfaces between applications
- Continuously developing system automation, standardized configuration, monitoring, and operational documentation to increase availability and operational capability
- Coordinating the further development of applications by gathering technical requirements, creating solution concepts, and developing release agreements
- Aligning and coordinating releases together with software development, customers, and application users
- Active participation also as part of project management for the further development of the application landscape, as well as lifecycle management considering specifications and technical requirements
Your Profile
- Completed IT education
- Profound expertise in Linux operating systems (Suse, Redhat, Debian)
- Experience in supporting applications/specialist applications (monolithic and microservice architecture) on Linux server environments with modern deployment methods (CI/CD)
- Basic knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes and willingness to certify (e.g., CKAD)
- Scripting skills in one of the following automation frameworks: Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Shell
- Assertive personality with organizational flair
- Enjoyment and experience in structured and analytical work in the application environment, as well as willingness to learn new technologies
- Team player with professional demeanor towards customers, even in critical situations
- Fluent German in spoken and written form, good English in spoken and written form
- Willingness for deployments (on-call/engineer on duty) outside regular office hours (weekends, evenings)
- Proactive thinking and participation in optimizing internal processes and adapting both internal and customer-side documentation
