Could you be the full-time Bid Technical Manager (f/m/d) in Zurich we’re looking for?
Your Future Role
140 years of Swiss railway history meet modern solutions for green mobility in Zurich. With 300 colleagues, our Zurich site servs as a global competence center for high-performance traction technology and a development hub for locomotives, bogies, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as services for the local and global markets. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to Tender Leader and Bid Manager and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to :
- Defining the product, technical alignments and costing in bid phase at every stage, up until the successful handover of all relevant tender documents to the project execution team.
- Take care of delivering engineering inputs for multiple locomotive bids, making sure they align with product development, contractual requirements and customer expectations.
- Executing the applicable (pre-) bid process defined by Alstom
- Serving as single point of contact in the Rolling Stock and Components (RSC) Engineering organization to Bid Management, Sales, Customer, Platform and internal & external Suppliers during tender execution
- Being responsible for the RSC Engineering bid budget (estimation, monitoring) during execution
- Bringing your input to Contracts for wording of commercial related issues which are affected by vehicle technical functionalities
- Actively supporting evaluation and implementation of Alstom bid / product strategy
- Supporting Sales department during technical negotiations with customer
- Representing RSC Engineering in the marketing phase and in the cross functional (pre-) bid core team
- Supporting preparation of reviews with respect to product definition, target cost and delivery dates lead by Platform
- Analyz potential technical / contractual risks and their impact on product / (platform) / project execution in RSC Engineering
- Being accountable for technical solution, related RSC Engineering cost and schedule of the offered product
- Responsible for the RSC Engineering part of the tender documentation
- Handl proper handover to project execution and supports the ramp up of the project

- A strong passion for project management and driving results
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering discipline
- Solid technical expertise in relevant engineering domains
- Hands-on experience in delivering engineering projects, within the railway or automotive industry
- Fluency in both English and German is essential
- Proficiency in Italian or French is a plus
