The Clinic for Consultation, Geriatric, and Neuropsychiatry (KAN, Acting Clinic Director Dr. med. Rafael Meyer) is responsible for the psychiatric care of persons over 65 years of age and people with intellectual developmental disabilities as well as for the consultation psychiatric support of hospitals and nursing homes in the canton of Aargau.
For one of our five wards in Windisch, we are looking for you by arrangement as
Tasks
- You work under the direction and supervision of a senior physician on one of the geriatric psychiatric wards (adults 65+) or on the acute ward for people with intellectual developmental disabilities (adults 18+)
- You treat elderly patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders (psychoses, affective disorders, dementias, and other neurocognitive disorders, among others) or people with intellectual disabilities and mental disorders
- Evidence-based integrated diagnostics and therapy within the framework of the operational concept and standardized procedures according to professional standards
- Careful structured case documentation and report writing
- Participation in interdisciplinary reports
- Collaboration in the multiprofessional and interdisciplinary team
- You participate in the on-call system of the PDAG
Profile
- Interest in geriatric psychiatry and neuropsychiatry (65+) or in people with intellectual developmental disabilities and psychiatric comorbidities (18+)
- Interest in the psychiatric care of people with comorbid psychiatric and somatic pathology, whose complexity complicates treatment processes
- Sense of responsibility, reliability, and ability to work in a team in line with our values of courage, commitment, and trust
- High social skills, independent and efficient working style, as well as high resilience
- Enjoyment of multiprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written
