The objectives of the Diagnostic Department of the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) (comprising 8 medical services) are to provide patients with results that assist in diagnosis, prognosis, therapeutic choices, prediction, and/or disease prevention. These results must be of high medical quality, both reliable, delivered promptly, and at an acceptable cost.
The Clinical Pathology Service provides a diagnostic clinical activity , supplemented by research and teaching missions.
Analysis of tissue or cellular samples from biopsy, surgical, and cytological origins not only allows for diagnosis but also the evaluation of prognostic or predictive factors of response to certain treatments, which vary according to the diagnosed pathologies. The diagnostic activity of the Clinical Pathology Service thus guides patient management and contributes to therapeutic decisions. Finally, through medical autopsies and research activities, the Clinical Pathology Service participates in understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in lesion processes. It is a fully digitized service, with clinical diagnosis performed entirely in digital pathology.
The Clinical Pathology Service is seeking a head of clinic with or without FMH title in clinical pathology (or an equivalent recognized title) for its diagnostic activity.
