For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, and the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Winterthur Semi-Open Prison (HGW) is one of the enforcement institutions of the Canton of Zurich (VEZ) – one of seven main departments of JuWe – and is an institution specialized in semi-open imprisonment, work release, and open enforcement. The HGW offers space for 25 admitted persons.
