Operations and Technology, Building Technology Department
Start of employment: by arrangement
The University of Bern educates over 19,400 students and employs more than 8,000 staff in around 150 institutes, nine competence centers, and the central administration. For research, teaching, and services, it uses a diverse spatial infrastructure spread over approximately 130 properties.
As an organizational unit of building technology, the Technical Service, together with the building services organizations, ensures the reliable operation and proper maintenance of the building services systems.
Tasks
- Responsibility for the proper maintenance of building services systems (HVACSE)
- Monitoring operational safety, functionality, and energy efficiency of all building services facilities on site, as well as via the building management systems
- Independent execution of regular inspection and maintenance work, as well as minor repairs
- Analysis and troubleshooting of technical faults during ongoing operations
- Coordination and supervision of external maintenance companies
- Documentation and data maintenance of assigned systems in the CAFM system (Planon)
- Support during commissioning and acceptance
- Assistance to building services staff in case of faults in building services systems
- Conducting system instructions for building services staff
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in building technology (e.g., heating, ventilation, sanitation, or electrical engineering) or mechanical basic training with a strong interest in technical systems
- Several years of experience in the operation and maintenance of building services systems
- Independent, structured working style as well as confident and professional demeanor
- Strong teamwork skills and service- and customer-oriented attitude
