The position is attached to the Department of Surgery. This department provides care for patients both electively and in emergencies. It represents a center of excellence, not only Swiss but also European in several fields and in many of its surgical specialties.
Job Description
The Department of Surgery is looking for a versatile medical secretary to join its team and actively contribute to the quality of care as well as the smooth running of the services. This position is particularly suitable for a curious, autonomous person with a real sense of service, capable of adapting to varied and stimulating situations.
You will work closely with medical teams and service secretariats to ensure effective coordination and optimal continuity of service. Through your versatility, organizational skills, and responsiveness, you will actively contribute to the quality of the patient journey and the smooth operation of the Department of Surgery.
As a versatile secretary, you will provide support across the eight services of the department. In this role, you will welcome and guide patients, manage telephone calls, organize consultations, prepare files, and schedule additional examinations when necessary. You will handle routine administrative follow-up, including managing mail, generic messaging, coverage guarantees, and financial estimates.
You will take charge of back-office activities, including typing, proofreading, and archiving clinical documentation, as well as processing medical information requests. You will ensure rigorous administrative management and guarantee the confidentiality of information.
Qualifications
You hold a diploma as a medical secretary or equivalent training.
You have several years of successful experience in a medical secretarial position.
You have a very good knowledge of computer tools (ECDL advanced level required on Word, and standard on Excel), as well as institutional software used at HUG (DPA, DPI, GRECO 2, OPALE, Winscribe).
You possess excellent oral and written French skills, with strong writing abilities, and easily understand medical terminology.
You are an experienced, rigorous, and structured person, capable of managing priorities and unforeseen events calmly and efficiently.
Your sense of confidentiality and professional ethics are impeccable.
