About the job

The basic training as an installation electrician EFZ is a solid entry into the world of electrical engineering. Thanks to the versatile and varied training with a federal certificate of competence, the chances on the job market are good. Installation electricians are sought-after specialists. Installation electricians install and assemble electrical systems in apartments, industrial and commercial buildings. Based on construction plans, they carry out simple installations such as lighting or heat pumps. They lay cables, install switch boxes, and connect the devices. They also install security and warning systems.

The training lasts three years and is completed with the federal certificate of competence as an installation electrician EFZ. You will be trained in an electrical installation company and mainly work at the client’s site. The profession offers variety, exciting projects, and much more. You will acquire practical professional skills in the company and in inter-company courses.

You attend vocational school one day a week. You will be taught in the subjects of processing technology, technological basics (including mathematics), technical documentation, and electrical system technology.

You attend the inter-company course (üK) in the 1st and 2nd year of apprenticeship for three consecutive weeks each, and in the 3rd year for two consecutive weeks at a training center. In the üK, you will learn basic practical skills in addition to your training in the company.
