Specialist in Automation of Cell Cultures 80 - 100% (a)
The Nanomaterials in Health department at Empa St.Gallen is a highly motivated team of biologists, chemists, and bioinformaticians. We are committed to understanding and controlling (inter)actions between (nano)materials and biological systems. For this purpose, we develop practical, clinically and diagnostically relevant cell-based models such as co-cultures or organoids.
Your tasks
- In the team, you will first develop a laboratory automation concept that supports current and future work with complex cell cultures, develop work procedures, and corresponding data management
- For this, you will create a needs analysis based on which you specify the necessary system requirements.
- You then support the department management in evaluating and comparing possible systems and procurement.
- You implement the procured system, parameterize, and program the respective procedures.
Your profile
- Training as a biological laboratory technician or equivalent training as a specialist in life sciences, engineering, or a related field
- Experience with automation or robotic systems in the life sciences sector as well as corresponding quality and data management.
- Knowledge and experience in handling cell cultures and complex, cell-based in vitro models.
- Independent, reliable, and goal-oriented working style.
- You are not afraid to take responsibility, tackle new tasks, and independently acquire the necessary expertise.
