About the job
We are a modern police force with 85 employees who ensure safety, peace, and order around the clock. Our IT infrastructure is highly available, security-critical, and technically versatile. As an IT Specialist IT Support – System Technology, you ensure operational IT support for all employees of the cantonal police and participate in operational projects in the IT area – including independent implementation and management in areas such as clients, communication, and special applications.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for you as
IT Specialist IT Support – System Technology 100%
starting June 1, 2026, or by arrangement with the workplace in Glarus.
Tasks
- 1st and 2nd level support for the employees of the cantonal police, remote and on-site
- Support and management of the IT infrastructure of the cantonal police
- Installation and support of clients in a Windows environment (Windows 11 / M365)
- User and permission management (Active Directory, SCCM)
- Support of software installations and application support
- Installation and support of mobile devices (iPhones, iPads) via MDM
- Support of other IT systems of the cantonal police (e.g., the modern cantonal emergency call center)
- Conducting internal IT training
- Participation in IT projects (e.g., introduction of new software)
- Deputizing for the support manager in the Polycom area (security radio network)
- Close cooperation with the cantonal IT department
Requirements
- Completed training as an IT specialist EFZ
- Experience in IT support (1st and 2nd level) and operation of IT systems
- Good knowledge of Windows clients, networks, and user management
- Technical understanding, analytical skills, and networked thinking
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
- High social competence, teamwork skills, and confident appearance
- Interest in a security-relevant, demanding IT environment
