Context
The Liaison Psychiatry Service (PLI) is attached to the Psychiatry Department (DP) of the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV). It currently consists of the CHUV liaison unit and the specialized liaison unit, as well as an emergency-crisis unit, open 24/7 to any patient presenting psychiatric difficulties, closely linked with the somatic emergency services of CHUV and a center that cares for (outpatient, day center, hospitalization) adolescents and adults suffering from anorexia nervosa and/or bulimia. Academically, PLI has a Research Center with expertise in qualitative research whose mission is to promote investigation and development of psychiatric liaison interventions with colleagues in somatic clinics. The service trains the next generation of clinical specialists in consultation and liaison psychiatry.
Mission
Main missions:
- Lead the service and ensure overall medical responsibility
- Organize and supervise psychiatric liaison care and interventions
- Coordinate pre-, postgraduate, and continuing education
- Develop and guide academic activities related to the university mission
- Create a hospital-academic succession and ensure an institutional role at the DP and CHUV.
Note: As part of the ongoing structural reorganization of the DP, the service's scope is expected to evolve, and consequently, the new leadership will be involved in this process.
Profile
Desired profile:
- Medical degree (Swiss or MEBEKO-recognized title mandatory); MD or MD-PhD
- Specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy (ISFM or MEBEKO-recognized equivalent mandatory)
- Advanced training in consultation and liaison psychiatry (ISFM or MEBEKO-recognized equivalent)
- Strong clinical experience in liaison psychiatry, management of major clinical projects, and ability to develop new ones (interdisciplinarity)
- Recognized managerial skills in leading and managing a large/multisite team and extensive project management experience
- Academic knowledge and expertise at professorial level with proven practice in pre- and postgraduate teaching and ability to establish clinical research programs supported by expert external funding
- Good knowledge of French (native or C1 ideal, minimum B2 with ability to acquire quickly)
- Strong institutional commitment and a strong ability to unite and motivate collaborators
- History demonstrating impeccable professional conduct: the selected candidate must provide all guarantees of integrity and compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements of the position.
