Museum Education/Outreach at the Nature Museum of Graubünden
Office of Culture | Nature Museum of Graubünden | 60-80% | Chur
For the Nature Museum of Graubünden, at the Office of Culture, we are looking for a museum education/outreach collaborator for our small team starting May 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Tasks
- Organization, development, elaboration, documentation, and implementation of outreach programs for classes of all school levels and other target groups
- Collaboration in the realization and management of exhibitions at the Nature Museum of Graubünden and related outreach offerings
- Design and execution of leisure activities for children and adolescents
- Assistance to teachers in the museum and maintenance of contacts between the museum, schools, and training institutions
- Participation in the development of the museum's supporting program and conducting varied guided tours and other outreach offerings also aimed at adults
- Supervision of interns in their area of expertise
What we expect from you
- Completed studies in natural sciences and/or pedagogical-didactic training, preferably with several years of experience in teaching and/or in a museum
- Solid knowledge mainly of local nature, especially of Graubünden/the Alpine arc
- Enjoyment in imparting knowledge to children, adolescents, and adults
- Confidence in front of school classes and adults during public guided tours, lectures, and other events
- Good oral and written expression skills in German and preferably in at least one other official language of Graubünden (Italian and/or Romansh)
- Independent and responsible working method, high motivation, creativity, ability to handle large workloads, flexibility (e.g., for evening guided tours), teamwork skills, and good communication abilities
